Our dedicated development team works hard to ensure growth. We are constantly looking for new opportunities in South Yorkshire, the Peak District, Cheshire, South Manchester and Shropshire. Although these areas form the cornerstones of our development activity, we are always looking to extend our boundaries into new areas. Our development expertise, excellent reputation and ability to cope with a wide range of challenges are key factors in maintaining and increasing our development opportunities.

Regeneration

Equity Housing Group has an excellent track record in producing quality regeneration schemes in market towns and within local authority estates. From 'Living over the Shop' initiatives to Housing Market Renewal, we have successfully tackled projects of all complexities. Sustainable popular developments will remain an important focus of our future and we seek to achieve a reputation for tackling the most daunting of projects in urban, rural and city locations.

Rural Housing

Over the past few years our work in rural locations has continued to grow.

We have recently completed a scheme of rent and shared ownership properties in the beautiful village of Cawthorne, Nr. Barnsley, and we are just about to commence on site with 10 affordable houses (for sale and rent) in Eyam in Derbyshire. We are very proud of our achievements in meeting the needs of local communities in rural locations.

Homebuy (Shared Ownership)

For over 25 years Equity has lead the way in developing affordable housing for first time buyers through shared ownership. As property prices continue to rise beyond the reach of people on average and lower incomes, Homebuy will continue to be the only way many people can take the first step into home ownership.

Affordable Housing with Private Developers

We were one of the first organisations to recognise the opportunities that were presented by the need for affordable housing to be provided as a planning requirement on private developments.

Throughout our area of operation we have worked with a whole range of housebuilders from the major national organisations such as Barratt, Persimmon (and formerly Westbury), Geo Wimpey, and many smaller local builders. Our reputation in this field of work is second to none, and it continues to be an increasing and substantial area of work for us. Our door is always open to working with new partners

Work on Supported Housing Projects

We are extremely proud of our work in helping people who need supported housing of one form or another. We work with Social Services, Health Trusts and many other groups to ensure that the housing needs of their clients are met in an appropriate and often innovative way.

Consultancy Work

Apart from our extensive expertise and experience in development we have an in-house team of qualified chartered surveyors. This enables us to provide consultancy and agency services to other housing associations and to provide project management services wherever required.
